It was work experience time a couple of weeks back, when the UK’s fifteen/sixteen year olds emerged from behind their books, desks and exams and spent a week or two on a placement in a company.
We were very pleased to provide post-GCSE student Joe with experience working in the busy factory and office environment at Powdertech Corby. This is what Joe had to say:
"I have spent a week working at Powdertech which was my first insight into a job environment, and I have seen all aspects of the business, from testing samples and chemical concentrations in the tanks, to writing quotes for customers. I can see how important it is to make careful checks on processes in the factory and to have close team work. Everyone needs to know what everyone else is doing. I had not realised that so much organisation, preparation and time goes into coating the metal used in buildings. Thank you to everyone at Powdertech for making my week a great experience.”
