Wood Finish for internal applications

The beauty and traditional style of wood is often the choice for interior decorative elements of a property, but frequently wood is not the best material to use.

Two of our clients wanted the warmth and texture of wood but needed the structural properties of aluminium. Apton Partitioning construct interior partition systems. These are quick-fitting easily demountable units. Apton wanted to offer partition frames that looked liked wood. Silent Gliss is a leading supplier of motorised and manual curtain and blind systems. They wanted to offer the look of wood in their choice of curtain poles.

Aluminium has many advantages over wood including reduced costs, flexibility in design, manufacturing and installation benefits. For both Apton Partitioning and Silent Gliss, aluminium is the perfect material, achieving the look of wood where a laminate finish would not be suitable for fabrication or assembly.

Powdertech Wood Finish (PWF) is a high performance finish for use on aluminium and steel. With over 30 shades to choose from, smooth or textured, components can be made with the warmth and texture of wood combined with the benefits of a metal system. The high performance finish contributes to the durability of the metal and preserves its appearance for many years. PWF is unique to Powdertech.

Apton Partitioning selected the PWF shades Oak & Beech for frames to glazed partition systems. Silent Gliss has curtain poles & finials in its range, coated in PWF003, Oak.
